Give it a try!

The easiest moisturizer to apply

homemade cream

Many women do not use moisturizer regularly due to lack of time, as it takes a while to apply it all over the body, and some creams take a while to absorb.

The moisturizing cream that we present in this article has the advantage that it is very nourishing but, on the contrary, it does not leave the skin oily, since we will apply it on damp skin while we are in the shower.

This type of application makes this option suitable for all skin types.

In addition, with wet skin, the task of spreading the cream is much faster.

Three natural ingredients

To make this simple cream we only need three ingredients:

Bee wax

Beeswax is the basic ingredient in this recipe, since it allows us to give the cream solidity, while adding the moisturizing and emollient properties of the wax.

It is also a product that helps us to reduce inflammation and heal, which is why it is very suitable for all types of problem skin, with eczema, psoriasis, etc.

Beeswax is excellent for removing impurities and progressively whitening skin blemishes.

Extra virgin coconut oil

Extra virgin coconut oil is an essential product both in our diet and among our cosmetics.

This vegetable oil is rich in essential fatty acids, which provide a lot of hydration to the skin and help us prevent wrinkles and stretch marks.

Coconut oil is suitable for all skin types and even stands out for its antiviral and antibacterial properties, very suitable for skin with acne and infections.

Grapefruit essential oil

We have chosen grapefruit essential oil to give our cream a refreshing point and also to:

  • Balance oily skin.
  • Fight impurities.
  • Fluid retention
  • Cellulite.

In addition, all citrus oils have the virtue of improving the mood and giving a lot of vitality.

However, we can choose some other oil that we like more for its aroma or its properties, such as orange, mint, rosemary, cinnamon, etc.

How do you prepare?

To make our moisturizer we will need the following amounts:

  • Pure beeswax (in solid state) (50 g).
  • Extra virgin coconut oil (in liquid or solid state, depending on the temperature) (100 ml).
  • Grapefruit essential oil.

Elaboration

  1. We will put the beeswax in a water bath so that it melts with the heat.
  2. Once it is liquid, we will turn off the heat and add the extra virgin coconut oil little by little and we will mix well.
  3. Once we have obtained a homogeneous mixture, we will wait for the preparation to cool down a bit, since essential oils are very sensitive to heat, and we will add the grapefruit oil.
  4. We will mix the three ingredients well and introduce the cream in a glass jar.

Coconut oil

How does it apply?

This cream is very nutritious, so if we apply it to dry skin it will leave it too oily.

However, we can use it  dry for areas such as heels, knees or elbows.

When we are in the shower with wet skin, when finished, we will apply the cream all over the body.

Once extended, we can wait a few moments to dry with the towel or, if we wish, let the cream absorb in the open air.

We can try both options to see which one leaves our skin better, although it will also depend on our routine and the time we have.
